Popular American Singer, R Kelly has been arrested for running an underage sex ring, raping minors and blackmailing victims to suppress them.
The 18-page New York indictment accuses Kelly and his team members of racketeering and sex-related crimes against women and girls. It also opened up on how the singer and his team engage in illegal sexual activity.
Aside an illegal business, the charges also has in it transporting for prostitution and forceful or enticement of a female and accuses Kelly of formulating his own rules for the women, including not allowing them to eat or use the bathroom. It also said he didn’t permit them to check other men out and telling them to lower their guards always.
The 13-count Chicago indictment filed on Friday details efforts by the singer to cover up sexually explicit videos of him with different underage girls.
Lawyers say the defendant paid thousands of dollars to victims and witnesses to ensure they would not open up to federals.
It also accuses Kelly of using violence, physical abuse and blackmail to stop victims from providing evidence to the law enforcement agents.
Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, said he is hopeful of Kelly’s release at a bail hearing next week and the singer has denied any wrongdoing.
