A man pastor identified as Reverend Peter Adegoke Adewuyi from Methodist church has been arrested for faking his kidnap with the motive of forcing his church members and family to pay his ransom.
The Ekiti State Police Command arrested the Pastor with his accomplice, one Sunday Oluwadare Adewole who was in charge of making phony calls to demand the ransom.
The 31-year-old Pastor revealed he was lodging in a hotel in Ado-Ekiti while carrying out his evil plans and his accomplice was with him doing his own part of the bargain.
After going into self-kidnap, he demanded the sum of three million naira from his church members as random.
This understandably threw his church members into disarray with everyone striving to contribute cash to pay for what later turned out to be a heist.
