Nigeria Presidential Election was conducted on 23rd February 2019, in the last two months with political parties jostling for the presidency seat in the country. There have been seventy-one contenders, while the person of President Buhari and Atiku Abubakar are the most popular candidates.

In Nigeria 2015, when the incumbent president Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was seeking re-election, he took the messages of his campaign to the churches. The church leaders were majorly part of his strength for his second term bid as the Nigeria President, during that time a lot of controversies were experienced in the nation, even though it’s clearly absurd that Religious leaders shouldn’t bring politics to discuss on the pulpit of the church.

But due to greediness and the pastor’s selfish interest, they have immediately indoctrinated the church into politics. After this major event, a lot of Nigeria pastors started by spewing prophecies that the incumbent will emerge as the president, even the popular Apostle Suleman wasn’t spared from the prophecies as he instructed Nigerians and the church that God spoke to him about the incumbent re-election.

Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), President Ayo Ortjisafor was part of the major deal, as he was the leader for the Christian body in Nigeria, his private jet was even seized with a lot of illegal money taken in and out of the country during the election. Millions of dollars were actually paid out of the country treasury to the pastors in order for them to canvass for votes and support them.

Towards that election , which the incumbent president lost the election, which saw the installation of a retired major general and a former head of state from the Northern part of Nigeria being sworn in as the new president. Being a Muslim, he still tried to play an open and equality hands to both religious leaders.

Now, the incumbent president is seeking his second term bid for the no one seat in the country, a lot of Nigeria pastors have come hard on him this time around telling their followers not to vote for him, rather they should vote for a thief.

In the Holy Bible it’s clearly stated in “John 10:10 ESV”

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”.

This current president has not been patronising church leaders like the former did by sharing millions of dollars from the national treasury, can we now say it’s the major cause why they are against his government? And they are proposing that “An Established Thief” should replace him.

The Bible also has this to say about thieves: 1 Corinthians 6:10 ESV /

“Nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God”. This bible passage explains to us that the thieves will nowhere to be found in the kingdom of God. And it’s generally believed that, thieves will support one another in order to be able to penetrate to steal, rob, destroy and kill.

Bishop Oyedepo was even part of the reconciliation team between Former Nigeria President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar, and it was widely rumoured that the pastor is after his own political interest, which generated a lot of revenues for his church and himself.

General Overseers like Apostle Suleman, Bishop Oyedepo, Pastor Joshua Iginla, and even the current CAN president was spotted in Ibadan last week Sunday preaching that Christians shouldn’t vote for the incumbent president.

Does that now mean that Nigerian Pastors Supporting Thieves are also thieves ?
