Top Nollywood Actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim, 44, has opened up on how she had to remove her womb to have a free and enjoyable life.
The actress, who thrilled in ‘Heaven’s Hell’ that was premiered at the cinemas on May 10, recently discussed her story at an event named ‘Conversation with Nse.’
Nse also explained that she was told she will never been able to have a child after it was discovered she had Adenomysis, a condition where the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus three years ago.
“I was told I wouldn’t be able to have my own kids,” she told the now emotional audience.
“So, I had to have a hysterectomy (removal of the womb) to enable me have a life again and to stop the pain being caused by what I was going through. And I’m openly telling women and men, it doesn’t matter really if you can’t have your own children. What is really important is what you would do for your vicinity, for the world. I cried and my husband held my hand. It was helpful someone was there and it was letting me know this was real, my reality.”
