The oldest person in Britain had died peacefully at her home at her home in Worcester last Friday.

Grace Jones, whose nickname ‘Amazing Grace’ died in her sleep in Worcester, her family has now confirmed.

The 112-year-old had whiskey with water every night which contributed to her longevity

She had suriced two world wars, seen 26 Prime Minister, fives monarch and had one daughter.

The next eldest woman in Britain is now thought to be 111-year-old Dorothy Payne, of Sevenoaks in Kent, who was born on 5th August 1907.

Her daughter, Deirdre McCarthy, 80, said her mother ‘did everything with style and were even playing carpet bowls last week Wednesday.

She also added that despite her old age her mother very active and never complained about life and was full of life.

Grace Jones was married to Leonard Roderick Jones in 1933 in Liverpool
