Former Nigerian Aviation Minister, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has offered his opinion on the rape allegation leveled against Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Church COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo by the wife of famous singer Timi Dakolo, Busola.
In an article he released this morning titled “Accuser of the Brethren,” the former transport Minister opined that Fatoyinbo should not be judged because of a yet to be proven accusation.
According to FFK, he detests rape but won’t also support the crucifixion of a man who has not been summoned or found guilty of any crime whatsoever.
Femi Fani-Kayode said he and his family worship at the COZA at times, added that it is an insult and abuse for anyone to say members of the church who have chosen to support the troubled Pastor until he is found to be guilty are under a spell.
None of us are under any spell. And neither would it be right and proper for us to turn our backs on Fatoyinbo without any solid proof of his wrongdoing other than the blanket allegations of his many accusers” he stated.
According to FFK, he has also been on the receiving end of unverified, siliceous, and salacious allegations for the best part of 30 years, and he understands the feeling of being accused wrongly.
He later asked Nigerians if they would accept the allegation easily like that if Pastor Biodun was their husband, father, son or a pastor and was accused of such a grievous sin.
Would they not demand to see proof? Would they not at least wait for that proof to be adduced or provided before condemning the accused?
