India’s second-richest man announced a billion dollar charity project. He is giving billions to charity in what may be the country’s biggest single donation ever.

Azim Premji, the billionaire chairman of Wipro, is handing shares in the tech company worth nearly 530 billion rupees ($7.5 billion) to his philanthropic foundation.

Mr Azim has a net worth of more than $18 billion according to Bloomberg. His tech company has now donated a total of $21 billion to the Azim Premji Foundation over several years, including 67% of Wipro’s shares, the foundation confirmed.

The Indian business man is no stranger to Giving Pledge, a campaign lead by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates to allow billionaires around the wold to share their wealth to charitable organisations.
